I’ve been in the mental health field for 17 years with the last 8 years, working directly with first responders. I am a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor, a Certified First Responder Counselor and am trained in EMDR.
Making the decision to come in to counseling is often a difficult choice to make. If you’re at the point of knowing you need some help, but not sure where to start, please come in, I want to help!! If I’m not the right fit for you, I will help you find the person who is.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and am accepting new clients under the supervision of Rae Brockman-Balawejder. Using a variety of techniques to motivate and inspire you to become the person you want to be, let’s tap into your personal power to change yourself and grow your resilience. I am a passionate, person-centered therapist who believes in a whole body and mind approach with counseling to help individuals transform their lives and achieve their goals.
I’ve worked as a licensed paramedic for over 25 years. I studied psychology at Texas A&M University, earning my bachelor's degree, and I studied exercise physiology at Texas Tech University, earning a Master of Science degree. I am currently researching the intersection of medical first responders and mental health. And I am also part of a team of researchers investigating inflammation biomarkers while taking nutritional supplements and exercising. Other projects have included addiction research as an undergrad research assistant and the use of exercise to help fight obesity as a graduate research assistant. I also developed an EMS screening tool to identify victims of human trafficking for EMS agencies in the San Antonio region.
